The Old House Gotten Manor

Back to holiday search

Gotten Manor is situated to the west and at the foot of St Catherine's Down.

It is infact 2 houses - The Old House built in the early 14th century and Gotten Manor started in the late 16th century.

The Old House was described in a document dated 1305 as comprising 'a Hall, a Grange, an Oxstall with half an acre of garden, a Dovecote with 30 acres of arable and 20 acres of pasture'.

Both romantic bedrooms, one hidden up a steep open stair, have  limewashed walls, wooden floors, A-frame beams,  double beds, TVs, sofas and roll-top baths within the room. One also has a shower. Downstairs there is a separate sitting room with log fire. A hearty breakfast - made from local and organic produce, is served in the old creamery.

There is a walled fruit garden reserved for guests.
